Jana Brown, Au.D.
Maryland Academy of Audiology
Jana Brown, former owner of Allegany Hearing & Balance, earned her Doctor of Audiology Degree in 2004, from AT Still University. She also holds a Master's Degree from West Virginia University. Dr. Brown is Board Certified by the American Board of Audiology. She is the past president of the Maryland Academy of Audiology and served on their executive board for six years. Dr. Brown was recently appointed to a four-year term by Maryland’s Governor, Wes Moore, to be on the Maryland Board of Examiners for Audiology, Speech Language Pathology, Hearing Aid Dispensers, and Music Therapy.
She has received six Academic Scholar Awards from the American Academy of Audiology. She is a member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology and was honored with the Leo Doerfler Award in 2017. She also received the Gerber Process Award and the Rich Burba Community Award from Audigy. She served on the executive board of the Dove Center, the local domestic violence center, and Project Healing Waters.
Stephanie Czuhajewski, MPH, CAE
Executive Director, ADA
Stephanie is the executive director of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology, where she oversees strategic and operational initiatives that support the autonomous practice of audiology and promote best business and clinical practices in the delivery of hearing and balance health care. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Sullivan University and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of New England. In 2024, she received the Presidential Medal of Honor from Salus University, which she counts among her greatest professional achievements. When she is not working, Stephanie enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling to far-flung places, watching baseball, and eating Jeni’s ice cream.
Emily Childers
Executive Director, KAA
Emily Childers serves as the Executive Director of the Kentucky Academy of Audiology. Emily’s experience includes over twelve years of event management, association management, hospitality and tourism, and marketing and communications. She most recently managed a state association, serving on all committees including government affairs, member services, legal, financial, and technical. She is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, holding a degree in Communications.
Trey Cline, Au.D., Ph.D.
University of Kentucky
Dr. Cline is currently an audiologist at the University of Kentucky. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and his doctorate in audiology from the University of Louisville. He completed his Ph.D. in gerontology at the University of Kentucky. His clinical interests involve diagnostic audiology including central auditory processing and tinnitus evaluations as well as appropriate rehabilitation techniques. He is actively involved in clinical research at the University of Kentucky with research interests in neuroaudiology and the impact of hormones on the auditory system.
Stacy Garrard, Au.D.
Kentucky Audiology & Tinnitus Services
Dr. Stacy Garrard is current owner and audiologist of Kentucky Audiology & Tinnitus Services in Lexington Kentucky. Dr. Garrard graduated in 2019 from University of Iowa with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Dr. Garrard then continued her education at University of Louisville, where she graduated in 2023 with her Clinical Doctorate of Audiology degree. Dr. Garrard specializes in tinnitus and sound sensitivity disorders and management. Dr. Garrard is Board Certified through the American Academy of Audiology and certified in Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT). Dr. Garrard is also the sole provider of the Lenire Tinnitus Treatment Device for the state of Kentucky.
Dr. Garrard is a member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA), American Tinnitus Association (ATA), and a board member of the Kentucky Academy of Audiology (KAA).
John Greinwald, MD
Cincinnati Children's
Dr. John Greinwald is a tenured professor of Otolaryngology, Otology and Genetics at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and at the University of Cincinnati with over 28 years of experience with a focus on the genetic causes and treatment of deafness. Dr. Greinwald co-founded the Ear and Hearing Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital which is leader in the field of pediatric hearing loss. He pioneered the establishment of diagnostic evaluation algorithms for children with sensorineural hearing loss and developed one of the first next generation sequencing platforms to determine the genetic causes of hearing loss in children while a principal investigator in his NIH funded laboratory. He pioneered the application of minimal access techniques in cochlear implant surgery in children. He has been involved in research for the application of gene therapy for children with hearing loss for over 6 years and did some of first primate non-human primate studies in this field.
Barbara J. Madden, Au.D.
Self-employed Consultant
Barbara J. Madden, Au.D., is a board-certified Doctor of Audiology with 40 years of experience in practice management, diagnostic audiology and hearing loss treatment. Her clinical expertise and interests include combining thorough evaluation with digital technology and individualized planning for each patient. Her mission is to teach others so that together we can enhance the experience of every patient, restore quality of life and improve overall well-being.
Dr. Madden was the Director of Audiology for 30 years at a large hospital/health system in southeastern Pennsylvania. She is a certified facilitator of leadership/management training and spends much of her time providing professional collaboration on the topics of practice management, program development and business efficiency.
Dr. Madden was a Business Development Consultant in the hearing aid industry for 10 years and now consults privately with likeminded colleagues on a part-time basis.
Shae Morgan, Ph.D., Au.D.
University of Louisville
Dr. Morgan joined the faculty in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Communicative Disorders in 2018. He graduated from The University of Utah where he earned both his Ph.D. in Audiology, and his Au.D. Dr. Morgan teaches coursework in Diagnostic Techniques, Medical Audiology, and Acoustics. His research focuses on how hearing impacts social judgments we make of others (e.g., assessing someone’s emotional state, confidence, gender, etc. based on what we hear). Additionally, he is interested in clinical audiology innovation (clinical audiology simulation, automated audiometry, new treatments for otitis media, etc.).
His clinical interests include vestibular testing, intraoperative nerve monitoring, and cochlear implantation. Importantly, he loves to play ping-pong, program apps, and spend time exploring Kentucky's many outdoor spaces.
Brandon Pauley, Esq.
Brennan Manna Diamond
Brandon is a Member in Brennan Manna Diamond’s (BMD) Columbus, Ohio office. Brandon counsels businesses, professional associations, and healthcare providers in areas involving financing arrangements, ownership disputes, ethics/licensure, cybersecurity and real estate transactions. Brandon has a national healthcare practice focusing on representation of audiologists and other participants in the hearing healthcare industry. Brandon’s depth of experience on a wide range of matters impacting audiologists provides the knowledge and skill necessary to help his clients navigate complex legal issues in a highly complex industry.
Elizabeth Rogers, Au.D.
Southeast Kentucky Specialty Clinic
Dr. Liz Rogers is a dedicated audiologist, business owner, and leader in the profession of audiology. She is a graduate of Indiana University–Bloomington, where she earned both her bachelor’s and doctoral degrees in audiology. She completed her externship at the prestigious House Research Institute in Los Angeles, CA. In 2014 she joined Southeast Kentucky Audiology. There, she developed and expanded services for both children and adults in the region who previously had limited access to audiology services. In 2017, Dr. Rogers became the owner of Southeast Kentucky Audiology. In this role, she has continued to grow the practice which now includes both speech and ENT services. Beyond her clinical and business roles, Dr. Rogers has been deeply involved in shaping the future of audiology on both state and national levels. She has served on multiple boards, presented on various topics, and mentored colleagues. She enjoys traveling with her family and spending time outdoors.
