Changes in Adult Medicaid Diagnostic Services Over 21 Years of Age

You will notice updates to the fee schedule include the addition of covered services when the patient is over the age of 21 years.  Prior to the end 2021, diagnostic services were not explicitly covered by Medicaid or a patient’s MCO when the patient was 21 years or older. Thanks to our Advocacy efforts, and with assistance from our colleagues at the Kentucky Speech Language Hearing Association, we were able to get the Department for Medicaid Services to include this update for the new feed schedule.  Please note, updates to the fee schedule are only limited to diagnostic services and does not apply to hearing aid-related services per the fee schedule.
